Summer is here… and inspiration is everywhere

Michael Josephson MBE and Lindon Kellett

June is a special month for me. It’s a time when I reflect on my journey, the opportunities and challenges that have shaped me, and the people who have supported me along the way. I am grateful for all of it.

I love all month’s and seasons but I particularly love the summer… it’s such an amazing time for making memories. I’ve been lucky enough to attend some incredible events, such as the annual Soccer Aid charity football match after party on Sunday the 11th of June. Celebrities and sportspeople like Liam Payne, Tommy Fury, Usain Bolt, Jill Scott, Paul Scholes, Alex Brooker, Dan Osborne, Lee Mack, Asa Butterfield, Gary Cahill and Maisie Adam got together for the game, which raises money for UNICEF. It was Robbie Williams that first created Soccer Aid back in 2006, and it has grown and grown into one of the biggest fundraisers in the country. This year the match was held at Old Trafford – an iconic stadium in the beating heart of the north-west, and it raised a huge £14,619,005 for charity and in total Soccer Aid has raised £90 million since it began. Brilliant to say the least!

I find charity enterprises such as this really inspiring, they really do encourage me to keep going and provide me with so much drive – I love seeing everyone get behind a cause so passionately.

All-in-all as I think back over the past year, I am encouraged by the resilience and perseverance that we have demonstrated as a society in the face of immense challenges. We have faced a pandemic, economic uncertainty, social and political unrest, and yet we have continued to press forward with hope and determination. It is a reminder that we can overcome obstacles when we work together with a shared sense of purpose and values. One of the lessons that I have learned over the years is the importance of creating a culture of trust, respect, and integrity. When we operate from a place of honesty and transparency, we build stronger relationships and create a more positive and supportive environment. This is true in our personal lives, in our workplaces, and in our communities. It is a lesson that we all can benefit from in a world that is sometimes filled with distrust and cynicism.

I want to express my deep appreciation to all of you who have supported the Michael Josephson MBE Charity Balls and mission. Your contributions have enabled us to reach millions of people with our messages of hope and kindness. As we look to the future, I am confident that we will continue to make a positive impact and inspire others to live with integrity and purpose.

Thank you, and have a wonderful month!
